Why Aurana?

Music generation is broken. We generate from prompts, but we experience music through emotion. A track can make you feel wonder, tension, or nostalgia in ways that are hard to put into words.

Aurana bridges this gap. We analyzed ~8,000 tracks from the Free Music Archive (FMA) across 165+ acoustic and emotional features, then project the results into an interactive star field where proximity means emotional similarity. Drag a cursor to describe how you want to feel, and the nearest tracks light up.

The result is a new way to generate music — not by what it is, but by what it does to you.

The Science

Aurana's emotional mapping is grounded in peer-reviewed music cognition research.
